Just ordered on my Amazon app and it worked using my Amazon Chase card.

It lets me charge another card however without 20% back.

Tried chat again, they asked for my phone number.

Then someone called me and said to take a screen shot of the error, purchase it again with another card, and contact them after purchase. They said they will credit my account the difference after purchase.

Go back to purchase, and "PC online code" is not available to purchase for Deluxe+State (no state tax). Must get "Physical code by mail" + state tax now for $24.23. It looks like the amazon visa will work for that one.

I'll try back later this afternoon. The advantage of the mail delivery is that it can be returned if a better deal comes along.

I ordered H&R Premium PC Download version from Amazon with my Chase card today. On top of the 50% discount to $32.49, I have another $10 discount. So, it was $22.49.

The code by mail is $32.49.

Often it is not systemic and resolves itself. Many other times, someone else has already noticed the problem and is working it [in this context he was referring to subordinates, generally]. So I usually try to determine (a) is my need urgent [no, in this case] and (b) is it likely a problem that will get resolved in the future in time to not affect me [yes, in this case.].

Now showing as "Currently unavailable" on Amazon. Had the same problems using my amazon chase card as others. Chatted with two agents, no help.

Has anyone tried to buy a gift card and then use it to purchase? Of course, doesn't work if it's unavailable. Hopefully they will fix the glitch.

I would have preferred the PC Download version, but I went with the available "H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe + State 2022 with Refund Bonus Offer (Amazon Exclusive) [Physical Code by Mail]" for $22.49. The physical code is supposed to arrive on Sunday. I have American Express Rewards Points and took advantage of the offer to get a 40% discount if paying by AE points. This provided an additional $9.00 discount bringing the cost to $13.49.

I hope the HRBlock download process, after I receive the code, is low hassle.

I believe the 2.75% is the bonus you get on your refund if you choose an Amazon gift card instead of cash. It was 10% several years ago and it has been steadily declining each year. Since using a gift card gives up the 5% back using the Amazon credit card, that bonus is pretty worthless now.

Office Depot had the same price as Amazon and we purchased without issues.

We also had the issue with Amazon this morning. Put Deluxe + state in cart, looked at something else,went to check out and it wasn’t available anymore. Didn’t want the activation code by mail, so DW looked elsewhere and found it at Office Depot. Downloaded fine and activated ok.

I have never seen any indications that multiple state 'keys' can be bought thru a retailer.

My experience has been adding additional returns has always been from within the tax software. For years I used TaxAct and had to buy addition returns for doing my children's returns while they were in school. When my need to start doing two UTMA generated returns arose, one of the reason I switched to HRB was their 5 federal including E-file at no additional cost. Those UTMA's are below their state's threshold for a return.

Since I switched to HRB, the cost for TaxAct for the you's and me's has got obscene. The bulk of their business is with tax professionals.

Reporting in for noon PST on Amazon Android app with Amazon Smile enabled.

The codes by mail are unavailable for Deluxe+State. Since those are physical inventory, I assume they've sold out. The PC/MAC codes by mail are still available for Deluxe, but not the PC-only code by mail. Side note: One year, I ordered the code by mail and received the entire cartoon of codes, either 10 or 20 codes (I forget which), instead of a single envelope. Amazon support said to keep them. My co-workers all got free tax software that year.

The banner underneath the price is there which says that one will get 20% cash back with the Prime credit card. There is however still the problem trying to check out with the Chase Prime Visa selected, where it says there was a problem and to try again later. Android will not allow me to take a screenshot of the screen with the error message "due to security settings", so I'm not sure how Amazon support expects people to provide a screenshot if they're just using the app.

Switching over to the Edge browser at smile.amazon.com gives the same problem. Just to be thorough, I also tried www.amazon.com, deleted the product from my cart and added it again. Same error message when using the Chase Prime Visa.

No problem buying an online code from Amazon with my BoA card. Same procedure as every year. I prefer to have them in my Amazon library so I can't lose the activation code and can easily re-download them later if I need to amend a return of past years.
