Vanguard cross-lists "FTSE Developed World UCITS ETF" in euros on Xetra exchange

Post by silverex »

Several days ago, on 4th February, Vanguard has cross-listed FTSE Developed World UCITS ETF on Xetra exchange. Upon launch, this ETF was only listed on LSE in GBP and USD.

That means that us, euro-based investors who prefer accumulating ETFs, now have another option to compose all-world portfolio on EUR-based exchange (Xetra):
89,5% VGVF (Vanguard FTSE Developed World UCITS ETF (USD) Acc)
10,5% VFEA (Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets UCITS ETF (USD) Acc)
with total TER of 0,13% - less than Vanguard's FTSE All-World ETF (0,22%), less than equivalent iShares portfolio (~0,20%).

Having launched last September, both share classes are tiny ($2M and $3M), and although the underlying ETFs are much larger ($2.7B total), they are still dwarfed by Vanguard's FTSE All-World ETF ($4.5B).

Notwithstanding weird pricing by Vanguard, it's good to have new options and price competition for Europeans.
