RSS Reader Question

Post by JAZZISCOOL » Sun Nov 10, 2019 4:18 pm

Hi BH's,

I didn't see any recent posts regarding the best RSS readers. Do BH's use these very often? If so, which are the best ones to try? They seem to simplify news feeds, etc. I know they have been around for awhile and thought this would be a good forum to get current feedback.

Thanks! :happy

I use feedly. Not as often as I use to due to the declining popularity of blogs.

I’ve been using Newsblur for many years and highly recommend it.

In addition to RSS feeds you can forward emails to it and read alongside your RSS feeds - a very handy feature managing email newsletters. And, it can also suck in Tweets of Twitter users that you specify, so you can again read those tweets alongside your RSS feeds. Finally I find saved searches handy sometimes for finding news about specific items. Solid mobile apps too.

It’s free up to a certain point and then $36 a year for advanced features IIRC. Well worth the small amount of $.

QuiteRSS. I've been using it for years, both at work, and now that I'm retired, at home.

If you are in the Apple ecosystem, Fiery Feeds is a good pick.

That's why I use "The Old Reader". I actually no longer remember if they are that similar to what Google's Reader was like, but it's online and works well enough for me.
