ACTWX- Keep or Sell?

Post by SJR » Sat Oct 13, 2018 10:15 pm

Hey All,

I currently hold ACTWX (Columbia Acorn Select Fund Institutional Class) with about a .90 ER. If I sold it now I would have mostly long-term losses (total loss is about $2k including both short and long-term).

Any reason not to liquidate and roll it all over into VTSAX? I'm ready to pull the trigger, but just want to make sure I am not missing anything.

The only thing that I personally noticed is that it throws off capital gains (relatively high turnover) in June and December. Is there any benefit in

keeping it until December because of that?

Thanks for reading.

PS I never willingly purchased this fund. It kind of fell in my lap (long story).

Tax loss harvest and change to a lower expense, more diversified fund sounds like a no brainer to me.

Make sure the change fits your allocation or reallocate at the same time.
