VIOO Reinvested Dividends
Anyone having trouble getting shares to reinvest from Vanguard into VIOO at other custodians?
VIOO dividend payout was on 12/26/24 and the dividend shares have not hit my investment yet (though the dividend does show up). The broker has already released the December statement for this TIRA without the shares invested, which means my RMD will be lower? or will it?
I'm just guessing here, but does Vanguard have to send the shares to these external custodians??
I have owned this ETF for 9 years and never seen this problem before - maybe 1 or two days but not 8 days!

I love simulated data. It turns the impossible into the possible!

You are going to need to contact your broker.
ETFs work differently than mutual funds. Vanguard sends cash over to your broker, not shares. It is your broker who is running the repurchasing scheme, taking the cash and buying new shares in the open market.

There is a long-running thread on broker speed of dividend payments you might wish to consult: viewtopic.php?t=87742

I'd give it another few working days to settle out and see happens at your broker, and gotta count business days not calendar days.

No problems with reinvestments for VTI, VBR, VIG, VV. Sorry I don't have VIOO.FinancialDave wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:57 pm Anyone having trouble getting shares to reinvest from Vanguard into VIOO at other custodians?
This is at 3 different brokerages: Schwab, Edge, and Robinhood.
Also, in years past I've had no trouble with reinvesting for my Vanguard ETFs (or any ETFs for that matter) at ETrade or Fidelity.
If you don't mind sharing, what's the custodian in question?

The other issue is should my custodian be responsible for correctly stating my TIRA year-end total value, which affects my RMD due?stan1 wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 3:09 pm I'd give it another few working days to settle out and see happens at your broker, and gotta count business days not calendar days.

Yes, it was finally reinvested on Jan 6th. The $450 was paid to the account and immediately withdrawn on 12/26/24. As far as I can tell the assets were not shown on the year-end report. It really won't matter as I don't plan to cut my RMD that close.JustGotScammed wrote: Mon Feb 03, 2025 3:44 pmDid you get your dividend?FinancialDave wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 5:32 pm
