An Insurance company supposedly sent me a wire transfer on Dec 6th. from their Wells Fargo to my Bank of America.
This should not take more than a day. but as of today, its LOST somewhere....
I asked the insurance company on Dec 10. to find where it is but they said I had to wait 10 business days to run a trace! and then another rep informs me 2 weeks later they ran a trace and its was sent to Bank of America. My bank says theres nothing and they can't do anything until they receive the funds. The insurance company gave me a TRN # . but BOA says that is not useful to them. I asked the Insurance company to do a recall, but they said it can take 5-7 business days. Large companies and their dumb policies
Can a Domestic Wire actually be in limbo ??
Anyone know what my next steps would be because I feel like Insurance company/Wells Fargo is going to be like "hey we sent to your bank, its out of our hands". Is there like a higher up association that a expedite this search??
Thank you

In any case, I would file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) who
https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/
They also have a telephone number given on this page. https://www.consumerfinance.gov/about-u ... 0languages.
Or perhaps file a complaint with your state insurance regulator.

I agree with what typical.investor recommends, and file with *both*.
But first, you might send WF a *written* (email is fine) notice that IF you do not have either the money or specific details about where the money is and how it will be getting to you *promptly* within [x days], that you WILL file complaints with both of these.
Give them a very few days to fix it and get you the money.
