Taylor, my friend, I just wrote a long post to you and didn’t hitSubmit. I wanted to tell you that Mal is now with Pat and they are both fine.
I gave all my Boglehead books to my young friend at the bank. He is a Vanguard and forum follower. He was delighted.
Remember our early, silly days at M Star trying to get a Vanguard forum? We just stood our ground until they were tired of us and we got first VG forum over there. We have come a long way baby, as they say. I loved our meetings and I loved Jack and I love you and my friends I met here. Never laughed so hard as I did in Denver with our silly town car.
Take care and I KNOW you will make the best of your new home.

Hi everyone, I'm just seeing this post and have enjoyed reading the many comments and well-wishes to Taylor.

I recently saw Taylor at his new home last month. His son, Michael, fetched me from where I was staying for the night and we went to The Palace and had lunch with Taylor, Michael and Michael's wife. I was also able to meet a few of the residents and see the many amenities The Palace has to offer. Lots of stimulation for those wanting to learn! Things like lectures, movie nights, etc. It was a place I would like to live when I dont want the upkeep of my own place and when I'm tired of cooking for myself. I liked it alot but can understand how different a place like this is for our sweet Taylor. He had that fabulous and serene view of Biscayne Bay that just can't be beat.

I am one of thousands of people whose lives Taylor has touched. I'm thankful for the knowledge and wisdom he so freely has given me. I credit my families financial situation totally on Taylor. I would have been very late to the saving and investing game, for sure.

When I was visiting with Taylor last month, he did say how very much he still loves reading the forum and hearing from all of you. Please continue to share you thoughts and thank-you's with Taylor.

Many thanks to Mr. Larimore. Because of his work, I'm able to live a moderately comfortable - a lot more comfortable than it would be without his contributions - lifestyle. I'm 77 and it looks like I'm fairly well set up for the duration.

Thank you for doing that Gail. Taylor is a long way away from many of us who wish we could do something similar.

I can't thank you enough, Taylor. My family and I retired early to pursue farming, that would not have been possible without you. We now provide salad greens to over 200 families.

Dear Taylor,

Best wishes for a happy Thanksgiving, and many many thanks to you for being such a steady hand, wise counsel, and exemplary model of service to all of us.

Sincerely,
Robert a/k/a "Beehave" which is a moniker chosen to remind myself to behave the capital B Boglehead way. And Taylor, with you as an inspiration and example I also think to "Teehave" which is to behave the capital T Taylorhead way to transcend my emotions and as best as I can train and teach myself and family and others to behave responsibly in our financial and civic lives.

The Majesty of Simplicity.

Taylor, I am in the 3 fund portfolio and I love it (I'm light on the International :D ). I occasionally peruse your Gems (book summaries) to keep me on the straight and narrow. I encourage others to do the same.

Hope you feel better. Your message to us has always been clear and consistent and we appreciate you and Jack as our guiding lights.

Hi Taylor, I know you read this thread.

I wanted to take a bit of time to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and to thank you for helping so many of us. I had the privilege of attending your virtual 99th and 100th Birthday parties, I am looking forward to attending your 101st Birthday party which would be a cool milestone seeing that you were a member of the 101st Airborne Division. Also looking forward to your annual "My Gift To You" Christmas message. Good to know that you are enjoying your new home.

Many best wishes,

Ned

Ned:

I regularly check this topic to be sure I don't miss any messages for me.

You're right--my 101 birthday will be a coincidence with my 101 Airborne Division's Battle during
The Battle of the Bulge in WWII.

Thank you for remembering.

And I think that’s terrific, I don’t know many people who’ve done that. But how did you arrange to be born in the United States of America?"

I have followed your advice, along with Mr. Bogle’s, for decades. I have shared your guidance with my brothers, sister, sons, extended family and multiple friends over the years. We are now very comfortably retired and in a position to give generously.

To echo many other voices, your influence and wisdom continues to extend beyond anything you might have imagined.

Can’t express my appreciation enough.

Blessings
