Ascensus has not deposited my dividend yet

Vanguard transferred my spouses simple IRA to Ascensus and unfortunately fidelity won’t take her plan. We have vanguard total stock market. A dividend was cut last Friday but it is still not showing on there website. Anyone else seeing this? Are they allowed a certain leeway for auto reinvest orders?

It is possible that the dividend has been reinvested, but that the transaction has not yet posted in the account. This would be like the case in my credit card accounts where the electronic bill payment doesn't appear in the online statement until a day or two until after it was effective.

Financial transactions can take a day or two (or three) to wash through various systems. Just hang on a bit here. It happens everywhere.

Was it the ETF or the Mutual Fund for Vanguard Total Stock Market?

The dividend is not supposed to be paid until today. One has to understand the differences among the ex-Dividend Date, the Record Date, the Reinvest Date, and the Payable Date.

In addition to all those dates, it also takes a day or two to transfer money via ACH.

Suffice it to say that things proceed slower than the Speed of Light except when the brokerage is WellsTrade and the Speed of Light is valid. Schwab is a close second and also a good place to hold an individual 401(k) and SIMPLE IRA.

Thanks everyone. It is the mutual fund and it posted on 9/27 with my same fund at vanguard. I thought for sure it would post last night. I will give it some more time and see what happens
