Vanguard brokerage - any way to view details of dividends paid today?
Vanguard brokerage - any way to view details of dividends paid today?
I have a brokerage account with Vanguard. When a dividend is paid out, it is included in "Funds available to trade" in the morning of the payable date. For example, VNQ paid out a ~$118 dividend today, so now my "Funds available to trade" is $118.58. But is there a way to see that the Funds available to trade includes VNQ dividends? I thought "Show credits and debit details" used to include such detail, but maybe I'm remembering it wrong. Thank you.

Go to Transaction History.

I don't see it there. I know I will tomorrow for dividends paid today, but I am wondering if there's a way to see it today.

I think you can see this under the "My accounts -> Dividends and capital gains"

You're right! There's a link to "Intra-day dividends, capital gains, and interest" on that page, and that includes today's dividend payments. Thank you.retired@50 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 9:33 amI think you can see this under the "My accounts -> Dividends and capital gains"

And, OP, you are correct. You used to be able to see this information in the initial screen you show. Vanguard took that feature away and moved it elsewhere.

Is this visible only on the old site? I can't find a way to view this information on the new site, I think "My accounts" is from the old site and not the new site right?
On the new site I see dividends under the "Holdings" > "Taxable Gains" sub screen (the "Distribution Payouts" screen shows each individual payment and not a summary of dividends paid per holding), but I don't see any intra day link on either of these screens.
Does anyone know if and where it's possible to find this information on the new site?

Is there any chance all your dividends have been paid already?iamthewalrus wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 5:56 pm Is this visible only on the old site? I can't find a way to view this information on the new site, I think "My accounts" is from the old site and not the new site right?

I suspect the intra-day link is for pending payments. Just a guess.

Re: Vanguard brokerage - any way to view details of dividends paid today?
I have Vanguard dividends paid today, but there is no way for me to see the details until the overnight computer run at Vanguard and when they update the web site. So to directly answer the "any way ...?" question: Wait until tomorrow.
This assumes that the dividend did not get automatically sent out to an external checking account. Then it might take two more days to see it.
If you need a real broker with real-time updating of your account on their web site, then switch to something like WellsTrade.
Also a not uncommon Vanguard ETF is VTI and the payable date for its dividends is tomorrow.

Re: Vanguard brokerage - any way to view details of dividends paid today?
I go into our Vanguard brokerage account and select Activity. Then select the account- ie IRA or Taxable. Then select Status.
This shows the date, In Progress, Bank Transfer and the $$ amount. So I can see the amount of dividends we'll receive though it doesn't specify which fund. Not perfect, but I do know how much I'll be receiving into our external account.

Thank you. I don't see "Status" to select, but I see "Status filter" and then in a separate section below "Non-order related activity" with something with a settlement date of "09/28/2024" which was last Saturday, but it is an improvement over nothing.goingup wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 6:19 pm I go into our Vanguard brokerage account and select Activity. Regards,
I already used these dollars to but VTSAX. When buying I said use dollars in settlement fund (which didn't yet reflect the Q3 DIVs). Hope no margin interest is charged

I don't see Q3 DIVS reflected in either of above ( anyways my navigation path to get to above is the later livesoft option)livesoft wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 6:35 pmThank you. My "non-order related activity" from above navigation shows only my unrelated bank transfer that is in progress.
Not sure if it is a MF/Brokerage account thingy, I think I started right away with Brokerage Account when I joined VG.
Re: Vanguard brokerage - any way to view details of dividends paid today?
On the brokerage platform, if a person goes to the old version of the Balances and Holdings page at https://personal.vanguard.com/us/faces/TPView and looks below their holdings they should see "Dividends, capital gains, and interest". Click on the link and a box will pop up showing dividends that have been posted as a credit in the settlement fund, and the name of the fund from which the dividends were paid. That information will display there for one day. On the next day, distributions will display on the Transaction history page, and the aforementioned wording and link will no longer be present.

Yeah I don't need to see it, it's just out of curiosity, I just have dividends for mutual funds paid into the settlement account and on the date it's payable I just see it as a cash credit with no way on the new site to see which funds are actually distributing and how much. Today for example VTSAX is distributing.livesoft wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 6:08 pm I have Vanguard dividends paid today, but there is no way for me to see the details until the overnight computer run at Vanguard and when they update the web site. I can still find it on the old site that RLH linked, thanks for the link, we'll see how long it keeps working.

If you know how many shares you own, you can look up the distribution per share on the Vanguard website. No login required.iamthewalrus wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:02 pmYeah I don't need to see it, it's just out of curiosity, I just have dividends for mutual funds paid into the settlement account and on the date it's payable I just see it as a cash credit with no way on the new site to see which funds are actually distributing and how much.
