I'm simplifying my financial life. There's a $0 Roth IRA that I'd like to close. Does this generate any type of tax forms I need to fill out (like I'm seeing with the posts on closing a Solo 401k), or is it as simple as calling in and telling them I want to close my account?
I don't have to report this during tax time right?
Any issues with closing down $0 Roth IRA?

Do you have another Roth account? If not I would leave this one open, and put some money in it. Roth is good.Caduceus wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 1:25 pm I'm simplifying my financial life. If there is a 0 balance, you can close it with no tax reporting and no effect on the 5 year holding period that you established with your first Roth contribution anywhere.Caduceus wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 1:25 pm I'm simplifying my financial life.
