ARKK had an amazing run!! The time to exist was back in 2021! Cheers to the winners!
Unfortunately, I think the most money flowed in at the worst time. That's how performance chasing works.
So NOW is the time to get in
Cathie Wood was ahead of her time. She sold Nvidia a year ago and avoided the 10% drop yesterday.

hagridshut wrote: Sun Jan 10, 2021 3:20 pm I agree with a lot of ARK's conclusions on the future direction and effect of technology on the equity markets.

The biggest risk of holding ARK funds long term is that the talent on analyst team shifts. For people early in their accumulation phase now, do you plan to hold ARK for 30 or 40 years, probably long past Cathie Wood's tenure as head of the company? Who is willing to keep close tabs on the people making decisions about the funds?

For Index Funds, one doesn't have to worry much about manager risk.
I agree with hagridshut, that is why I have 29% of Vanguard Information Technology VGT, which is a passive technology index fund at a lower expense ratio, ER 0.10% over Ark active managed funds.
Since the date of your post, VGT is up by 56% while ARKK is down by 69%.

On April 12, 2022, Cathie Wood declared that she expected 50% annual growth of ARKK over the next five years. Since then, ARKK is down over 27%. It has also seen around 80% in outflows as investors flee the fund.
