BMO Alto CD's?

Post by cowboy3008 »

It looks like BMO Alto is an online only division of BMO Harris, that recently opened this year.
I'm looking at a 60 month CD. BMO Harris is 4.75% and Alto is 5.25%.
Has anyone opened a CD at BMO Alto?
Curious about experiences.

They seem to be legit
though the few reviews they received were poor.

It’s a good rate for 60-months, and was considering it myself. I tend to look at CDs as generic commodities, and don’t care that much about anything besides the rate, especially for one that will be ignored for five years. Maybe I’ve increased my risk of a bad customer service experience in 2028, but…shrug.

This assumes I’m putting a substantial amount of money in the CD. If it’s just a few thousand dollars, then the risk/frustration isn’t worth the extra income.
