Obviously, I realize not all index investors here consider value tilts smart, passive, etc.
Also, I realize that the Avantis and RAFI (e.g. Schwab Fundamental ETFS/Funds) employ different tactics to achieve what most would consider a value "index" fund, from a practical if not a semantic, standpoint.
That said, I have had a small corner of the portfolio in the Schwab Fundamental Intl Large Cap, Small Cap, and Emerging Markets funds for years -- pre-dating the advent of Avantis.
Nearly identical ER's in the comparable ETF's/MF's, fairly similar performance over limited time periods for comparison:
Any reasons -- nature of the company, nature of the strategy, etc. -- to consider moving those to Avantis now that they've been around awhile?
Thanks in advance for the reasoned replies.

I like the RAFI funds and I like Avantis. I'd say keep that allocation, especially if it will trigger a taxable event. If it's a small allocation, it's not likely to make much difference.

That’s my inclination.Nathan Drake wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 12:06 pm I like the RAFI funds and I like Avantis. I'd say keep that allocation, especially if it will trigger a taxable event. If it's a small allocation, it's not likely to make much difference.
I appreciate it.
Also, it’s clearly nice to have Avantis as an option.

DFA now has a whole suite of ETFs as well. They have International Value products available. So you have RAFI, Avantis, DFA, and the various style index ETFs from yet other providers that are available. iShares and Vanguard have good ETF products. We live in an era when there are many excellent choices available, almost an embarrassment of riches.

I used to have a little DFA envy from when one had to go through a broker.
It looks like they’re a few basis points more expensive.
However, yes, great to have more and more options for us splitters & tilters!
