Green Valley---about 20 miles south of Tucson----here. I'm a "Snowbird," and am generally in AZ from late October through about mid-May. Interested in being on the contact list for the Arizona Chapter----and especially if a/the Tucson Chapter is ever reestablished. Tx!

Hi All!

I'm a new Boglehead from Fountain Hills and am currently reading The Boglehead's Guide to Investing. Is this Arizona chapter still active? If so I would love to join the group and attend the meetings.

Hello AZ Bogleheads,

Our next meeting will be on December 14th at 1pm. One of our members has been nice enough to book us a room at the Optima Camelview in the Concierge Room. The address is 7141 E Rancho Vista Dr., Scottsdale, AZ 85251. Phone number for the Concierge Office, in case you get lost, is 480-659-4847. If you park inside the complex, please park where it says guest parking or alternatively, you may park outside across East Highland Avenue.

This will be an informal meeting, as always, with no specific agenda so feel free to ask questions or talk about whichever subjects interest you. Please let us know if you will be attending as we need to get a head count to ensure enough seats.

Best,
Mark

***ATTENTION***

The AZ Bogleheads meeting room on Saturday, December 14th has been changed to the Old Management Office (next to the fitness center) instead of the Concierge Room. Please make note of this change. Looking forward to seeing everybody then!

Have fun! :sharebeer

Thank you to all of you that came to our Bogleheads meeting on Saturday! We had a great turnout and as usual, was very informative. I will keep you posted on the next meeting at a later date.

As mentioned during the meeting, please post any suggestions you have for other members regarding helpful books, articles, blogs, etc. One of my favorites is Morgan Housel's blog at Collaborativefund.com/blog. His ideas on the psychology of investing are invaluable and timeless. Look forward to hearing from you.

Best,
Mark

I'd like to suggest the following book: Bull! by Maggie Mahar. It provides a nice argument against buy and hold and sets up the story for the lost decade that followed the bull market that ended with the dotcom burst.

If there's enough interest in getting the Arizona Bogleheads Local Chapter back up and running again, you need five or more Bogleheads who are interested and one of you would have to agree to be the Local Chapter Coordinator. Let's start the roll call and see who's currently interested.

Even if we don’t get a formal chapter or anything, I’d be interested in doing something less formal like a quarterly happy hour or maybe a meal.

Informal is something I might like.

Prescott, so is a long drive, 4-5 hour round trip for me if to Scottsdale, etc, so can't do that.

Question:

Because of the long travel drives for many, and awkward logistics and scheduling....
....Maybe do a group Zoom informal thing. Aloha shirts required. Eat or have drinks as we meet virtually. Hawaiian music and TIKI bar virtual background.

Hello! NW Phoenix. I’d be interested in joining this chapter. Brand new to investing and just reading The Boglehead’s book.
