On the web interface, for your Account (click on the person icon left of Logout) then Alert Settings
> Under Alert Delivery Methods set as you like including phone number for text messages
> Under Profile & Security make sure Deposits & Transfers enabled for Text Message

It's annoying to log into my Schwab account and see a large cash balance just sitting there because of a dividend payment I didn't know about. For various reasons, I now log into my Schwab account more or less weekly so the cash won't sit there for long, but I'd love an alert.

If you contact them and request they add one, they might. I did it with Fidelity and they actually added an alert a few weeks later.

We have a schedule of our investment that pay divis that are not reinvested and track them that way so the cash isn't idling at near zero rates.

I'm pretty sure I have every alert on.

There's two places to set alerts. Look at Profile --> Alerts (not Alert Settings) and see if 'Trade Notifications' is checked. And check your 'delivery options' in the beige bar above that.

Not what you asked, but you can set up a standing transfer order so that dividends/interest is automatically sent to a bank account.

If that bank account gets activity alerts, then that is one roundabout way to get notification of dividend/interest payments.
