Philly People - Good Jewish Delis?

OK, spill it. I can vouch for Ben and Irv's in the northern 'burbs, but who is in center city?

Koch's is the standard answer in the University City/West Philly area near Penn. It was good, but I haven't been there for decades (moved away, then moved back but to the suburbs) and can't vouch for how it is now.

Koch’s is good but unbelievably slow - I’ve waited there over 45 mins when there was one person in front of me for a sandwich.

When we lived in the city it was Famous Deli up in the north-west. That was a very busy location my Mom loved.

In the suburbs now we are left with just the Kibitz Room in Cherry Hill NJ.

Wawa is average meats on a sub-standard roll. But whatever, if you have to...

I would put more trust in a Primo's sandwich.

Neither place will be confused with a Jewish deli.

If you include the ‘burbs, Hymie’s in Merion Station is the real deal.

The owner of Famous 4th St. is opening a deli at the former location of Short Hills Deli (Cherry Hill, NJ).
Russ Cowan, who owns Famous 4th Street in Queen Village, will return to Cherry Hill with Radin's. The name has a rich history. 42 minutes ago Jewish deli maven Russ Cowan, who owns Famous 4th Street Deli in Queen Village, has signed a lease for the former Short Hills Restaurant & Deli in Cherry Hill’s Short Hills Shopping Center.

Mentioned In a later pay-walled article, it is supposed to open in the summer.
