I found this via the Google:
So the above it what you will use now (for your taxes due April 2023).
If you are asking about the standard deduction you will use when you file your 2023 taxes (in April of 2024) - I'm guessing they won't announce until late 2023 or early 2024....
I'm totally taking a wild guess about this. I don't know nothing about New York State Taxes....
The New York state standard deductions for tax year 2022 (taxes filed in 2023) are: Single: $8,000. Single (claimed as dependent): $3,100. Married filing jointly or surviving spouse: $16,050.

I believe those are the federal values.TomatoTomahto wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 1:43 pm NYS according to Google: The 2023 standard deduction for taxes filed in 2024 will increase to $13,850 for single filers and those married filing separately, $27,700 for joint filers, and $20,800 for heads of household.
The state values may be below:

Re: What is the 2023 NY State standard deduction?
I’m trying to figure out my tax liability in 2023 to inform how much I pay in estimated tax this year. I need to 2023 standard deduction to figure this out. I guess I can plan for $8k and if it ends up being greater, I’ll just have paid a bit extra in estimated tax through the year.LittleMaggieMae wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 1:54 pm I found this via the Google:

Re: What is the 2023 NY State standard deduction?
It looks like they were the same for the 2021 tax year as they are in the 2022 tax year. The conclusion being they are not indexed and would have to be changed by the legislature.New York's standard deductions also depend on filing status. As of the 2021 tax year (the return you'll file in 2022) they were:
Single and you're someone else's dependent on a federal return: $3,100
Single and you're not someone else's dependent on a federal return: $8,000
Head of household: $11,200
Married filing jointly: $16,050
Married filing separately: $8,000
Qualifying widow(er): $16,050
New York does allow you to itemize (based upon essentially the old federal rules) even if you take the standard deduction on your federal so there likely is not a lot of pressure to change them. I itemize for my state return.
