Dear Bogleheads:

Seventy-seven years ago this month, I had the honor of participating in the 1946 World War II Victory Parade in New York City. It was a thrill I will not forget. The feelings I had that day are small compared with your many posts that have brightened my life as I have grown older participating in this great forum.

Boglehead Kathleen Ryan whom I barely know, started this thread wishing me a Happy 99th Birthday. Her post has received hundreds of Replies with similar good wishes.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude.

Happy Birthday, Taylor! I just finished reading The First Wave, written by Alex Kershaw and My War, written by Andy Rooney. I am in awe of the sacrifices made by our soldiers in WWII. I hope you feel the gratitude we have for you for your service as well for your continued efforts helping others gain financial knowledge.
