Dual Monitor Stand

Post by jfn111 » Tue Jun 30, 2020 6:48 am

Does anyone use a dual monitor stand that they can recommend? I have been reading Amazon reviews and half the people love, a particular stand, and half think it's junk.
Because of the configuration of my 3 piece corner desk I need one that uses the grommet installation rather than the pressure screw method.

This thread is now in the Personal Consumer Issues forum (monitor stand).
Wiki To some, the glass is half full. To others, the glass is half empty. To an engineer, it's twice the size it needs to be.

My favorite is the Ergotron LX dual side-by-side arm. It is expensive though. You'd have to examine the mounting options.

That does look like a good one and does support the grommet mount- "includes two LCD arms, two extensions, pole, t-bracket, desk clamp and grommet mount, attachment hardware".
Thanks

I've installed a few hundred grommet-mount ergotron monitor arms in a previous life, and at least at that time the quality was very good.

Ergotron is the best. I think there's at least one AmazonBasics model that's made by Ergotron, but not sure if that's true for all of them, so check carefully.

Wirecutter recommends Fully Jarvis and Ergotron: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/revi ... itor-arms/

I've been happy with my VIVO stand. I have a free standing version, but I believe there is a grommet-base version that goes for ≈$40 on Amazon.

I'd be really concerned that a clamp style would warp/damage a particle board desk over time.

What's the best option for a stud/wall mount?
