I know alot of you guys and gals have different opinions on this service. I just want to sing their praises. When I started in this service a year and a half ago, I expressed my risk tolerance as very conservative. After several video calls , my advisor designed a all index portfolio which allowed me to sleep at night. Even with this portfolio I started to panic somewhat. My advisor spoke twice with me during the past two weeks to calm me down, showing me how we prepared for a down market. Even with my very conservative allocation, I believe, I would sold everything when the Dow went down in the 19000’s. I got to be honest with myself. The small fee they charge, is worth every penny for me. I had no problem getting in touch with him and he took his time. FYI, he told me of all his 175 clients, only one person, sold out and went to cash
The conversations, that helped calm you, are what good advisers are supposed to do. I'm glad that it worked in your case. Avoiding big mistakes can be worth much more than the associated fee in some cases. Best of luck.

Maybe only 2 of his clients called him.
My spouse has no clue what is going on in the stock markets and doesn't care to know.
During a Vanguard webinar a couple of years ago, a PAS CFP noted that often their primary service is handholding. Once they work with you to set up a plan that matches your needs and your risk tolerance, you don't need anyone to fiddle with your portfolio, but you may need someone to talk you down during a time of volatility.
