Right click to re-open closed tab/window not working ?

Post by ResearchMed » Fri Nov 15, 2019 9:18 am

Suddenly, and handy "right click" action on my mouse no longer works as before.
In particular, there used to be a drop down menu that included something like "re-open most recently closed tab" or "re-open most recently closed window". (These were worded more succinctly, but I can't remember the precise terminology.)
This *may* have started after an update, but I'm not sure about the precision of timing.

Both of these were very handy at times.
Is there some other way to do this?

Thanks.

The most recent Chrome update eliminated some menu options when you right click on your tab. The keyboard shortcut for reopening a closed tab is ctrl+shift+t. I miss the close all other tabs menu option and don't think there is a keyboard shortcut for this function.

The "Reopen closed tab" feature is still there, but moved to the right of the "+" open new tab button. Try right-clicking there.

Try a different mouse.

Thanks. I had never known there was "anything there", but is seems to work (most of the time?).

What about opening the recently closed window (not tab)?

For the others, I've got Chrome.
At least I can now usually re-open a recently closed tab.

If you view this as a reason to still use Windows XP to browse the internet, it's not, as explained in prior threads.

I'd found the ctl+shift+t shortcut myself by googling. I didn't find the right of + option.

Thanks to both of you. Obviously an "improvement" in the Chrome browser that I never saw an announcement from Google.
