Surveillance/Privacy books

Post by get_g0ing » Thu Nov 07, 2019 11:45 am

I came across an interview on EconTalk of the author of the book "Surveillance Capitalism".

So I went to Audible and looked up the book. There were several related books sowing up, including those on the themes of "attention economy".
I believe some of the books in these categories would be well-balanced and rigorous, while many would be "alarmist" types (exaggerating the concerns).

How do I identify the good ones or select which would be worthwhile?

Does Audible work like Kindle where you can read the first chapter free so you can decide which category the books fall into?

Does your public library carry the books? Free to borrow so if the book falls into the wrong category for you after reading a couple chapters, it’s easy to return it.
