Investing in ETFs from France

Post by ruebellot » Mon Sep 23, 2019 5:05 am

Hello everyone!

I am a foreign student studying in France. I have saved up some money and want to start building my portfolio here in France. Unfortunately, I have not been able to see enough resources online for investors in France.

Please, would anyone be able to advise me picking the best brokers (if there's a DEGIRO alternative)? And also, on tax laws and the most efficient way to build a portfolio of ETFs.

I also saw that it was possible to open a Vanguard account from France (with their European entity), but I'm not sure if that's for individual investors or not. Does anyone have experience with this?

Hi,
a good place to start would be to have a good read through everything available here on Wiki: https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Outline ... _domiciles
Then try and work out an investment plan and set out your thoughts.
