Buying window shades

Post by walletless » Wed Jun 12, 2019 11:09 am

My home came with few cellular window shades where the strings are broken and you can no long pull up/down the shades. We are now looking to replace all shades in our living room (6 windows) with new ones, possibly kid-friendly pull-up/pull-down style mechanism.

Are there folks here who have bought fabric-based shades such as these: https://www.selectblinds.com/rollershad ... lorId=6276 and if so do you recommend them over cellular shades for living room?

Also, are the "kid-friendly" cordless lift systems any good? Is it possible to open the shades half-way with these mechanism?

Are there budget-friendly places you suggest looking at when purchasing, besides selectblinds.com and zebrablinds.com?

I've used select blinds for many years and 3 houses. Always install them myself (i.e. it's not very hard to install them if you can follow directions).

Have not used the cloth one you are suggesting. I always get the top down bottom up cellular shades. Now that they are available, I get the cordless ones. They work great. I would not have anything else.

I could not be happier with the service, the cost, the product, or how they handle things when a blind breaks (which has only happened once).
