Have a TCL built in Roku from Costco. Love it. Highly recommended especially for cord cutters. It handles antenna really well too.

My garage TV is a TCL with Roku, great TV. I received it from the daughters a few years ago.

If you buy at Costco with a Costco credit card you might be able to get the warranty extended to four years. We bought our living room TV and got the deal. We also received 9 months of HBO free. As well, a few weeks later Costco cut the price, and they cheerfully refunded over $200 to us. So, a great experience all around.

I had never heard of TCL. Washington Post compares it to the Samsung we got from Costco. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the ... 57020e3072

When we were shopping, the only place I found with better prices than Costco is the Marine Corps Base Exchange near us, and only because there’s no sales tax.

This recommendation is significantly out of the specification range of 48"-52". And it is not competitive.

Back when I bought a year or so ago- the dirt cheap models didn't have HDR (high dynamic range). This makes a big difference in your perception of image quality (very black blacks). I recommend trying to get into an HDR model unless you always use the TV in a lighted room.

OLED is even better, but you need to compare side by side to figure out whether it is worth the extra for your use.

I like my 50" Samsung for a bit more.

We got an LG from Costco a few years ago. It is a 49" and was well under $500 at the time. My toddler has beaten it up over the years and it keeps on going. Has my vote.

You should be able to get a 50” 4K HDR TV for under $350. Samsung and LG tend to be the leading brands; there’s also Visio, TCL, etc.

No. Get one for less than $200 instead.
