drive various models multiple times and pick the one YOU like

if you are comfort oriented go that route or if you want handling, go that route

they are all outstanding cars , although I lean toward BMW then Audi. I thought both drove better than the Mercedes and I eventually settled on the 3 series. That was over 10 years ago and now drive an old Honda CRV.

I would not spend that kind of money on a gas car. None of them can hold a candle to the comfort and performance of an electric. Also, I hear the electrics deliver to your home (no need to visit the dealer). That is worth it in itself.

For fit and finish, any of the Germans.
For performance, nothing beats the electrics.

You know Audi A6 is Audi torsen quattro which will offer much better safe and confident driving on slippy road.

The 2019 no longer uses Torsen, it is a Haldex system and operates in FWD mode with 100% of the power going to the front wheels most of the time.

BH never buy new luxury vehicle. Buy 3 year old German with extended warranty. Many luxury car buyer bought extended warranty and it' transferable.

Tesla. S or 3 performance. Be sure to drive one before you settle for a bmw/audi, ;) That is all.

i would second just test driving a tesla. everyone I have spoken to -- even non-electric car fans -- have told me it is an impressive experience.

and this is coming from someone who thinks teslas are overpriced and drives a civic.

If I wanted to splurge on an auto, I'd skip the German brands and check out Lexus or even Infiniti or Acura for fewer maint costs/headaches down the road.

BH means living within your means, it does not mean buying the cheapest possible option.

AUDI A6 .. other German names are a dime a dozen on the road.. A6 or A7 will be more exclusive
...
I am a car enthusiast and can tell most cars by just their tail lights. But (for the life of me) I can never tell the difference between an A4 and an A6. Well ... perhaps that is why they seem "exclusive" on the road?

It seems like you are pretty intent on buying new and doing European delivery, but these mid size German sedans plummet in value in a couple of years. After that, they hold their value pretty well. I would buy a gently used one at a 50% discount :happy

Mercedes typically has a good end of year sales event on CPO cars, and an extended warranty isn't terribly expensive.

They are very similiar indeed. The new Audi A7 is quite sick. Much more exclusive than the BMW or Benz.

It would be a 3-4 year old car for a 50% discount. Some such cars are a good buy because they were "gently used" (low mileage, always garaged, located in a good climate, not raced, no accidents, well-maintained, etc.) However, it's not easy to find such cars or to verify that they were indeed "gently used". Most cars are anything but that... I stay away from used cars - got burned the couple of times I bought them.

You don't see a ton of CLS or 6 series on the road either. I don't think any of these cars are that exclusive. You will see them on the road every day if you are commuting long enough. You just see 2 or 3 instead of the 100+ series, a4s, and c class:).

The 6 series is not in the same class as a6 or a7 or cls.

First google hit for me: https://www.whatcar.com/news/new-audi-a ... -gt/n16964

Seriously every comparison test matches these cars up as they are cars that get cross shopped.

Don’t think the 6 GT is comparable to the A7 of the CLS. The 6 GC would be comparable if they still made it, but they basically renamed it the 8GC and haven’t released it yet. Will basically be 4 door version of the 8 coupe which is really just a 2 door version of the 5 series which is exactly what the 6 coupe and 6 gran coupe were.

Yeah BMWs marketing team made a complete mess out of this one.

When BMW made the 6 GC it was a real looker. That GT in the article looks awful and the A7 looks like a turtle taking a dump. The CLS is quite a looker and BMWs M850 which will have the 4 dooor gran coupe soon is stunning but in a completely different price category compared to the A7 and CLS

What can I say, the authors of the article are wrong in lumping the 6 series with A7 and cls. I kind of know what I am talking about when it comes to cars. Cls and A7 definately same class, the 6 series not so much. Have an A7 now, cousin has a 6 series.

This is actually a great idea if you can stomach the following issues:
- You don't have clients who would raise eyebrows when you show up in a Porsche
- You actually like the *controversial* styling of the Panamera (I personally do)

E. When I came back to the states I test drove every American and European Luxo and found the s class to be the winner. E is basically a shrunk s nowadays.
