Jack Bogle Bobblehead

Bogleheads -

Over the years I have read posts inquiring about purchasing a Jack Bogle bobblehead. Unless I am mistaken, I believe many years ago Wiley had bobbleheads made with the release of The Bogleheads Guide to Investing.

I was thinking over the weekend, would it be possible to sell bobbleheads where the proceeds raised are donated to the John C. Bogle Center for Financial Literacy. To support the overall mission.

My thoughts. I am interested in others thoughts!

I'd love one. Maybe even two.
My local chapter of Bogelheads could put it on the table when we meet in public areas so newcomers know they've reached their destination.

That would be up to our publisher (Wiley) and Jack Bogle to decide, since they own the rights to the Bobblehead. My understanding is that when Jack agreed to have his likeness used on the Bobblehead, he insisted that it only be used as a promotional item for The Bogleheads' Guide, and that it not be sold.

Regards,

Mel
I'd love one, too, though :)

I'm not sure if this one (below) was ever snapped up... If not, some of the more eager Bobblehead Bogleheads here ought to jointly purchase it and then they could rotate custody. Personally, I'd look forward to seeing the pics of how the various owners honor their visiting hero.

I own the "Jack Bogle bobblehead doll" in its original box. I will sell it for $5,000 with all the proceeds going to The John C. Boglehead Center for Financial Literacy.

Best wishes.

My offer still stands. Your purchase should be tax-deductible.

Best wishes.

You'll only receive responses from people interested in buying them, which won't necessarily be an indication of how much demand there is relative to the size of the community. So, in the spirit of representativeness let me say that I will definitely not be buying one.

Also, this is more appropriate for the Bogleheads community forum so I'm moving it there.

Staying true to form, the bobbleheads should be made in the US.....or at least no more than 20% made overseas. :)

If it’s well made and under $50 I’d buy one.

But I haven’t been a Boglehead long enough to be able to afford a $5,000 one!

I already asked Mel about this at one of the conferences (and got the answer above).

It seems like a great idea. And yes, I would like one very much.

Also think Jack Bogle pins could be a thing.

To me it would be a useless chachky destined for a landfill, so tally a no for me.

All of what we buy—and most of us are destined for landfill.

If offered under $20 per, I’ll take a pallet.
