2015 Lexus ES350 or 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5? Go.

Does the Accord have the same engine that's giving the CRV trouble? I've crossed CR-V off my list and Civic and Accord that shares same engine. If you're leasing the car, it may not matter, but if you're keeping long term, be more cautious.

How bad is the decision of buying a 2018 Honda CR-V considering the issues it have with fuel leakage into oil tanks at lower temperatures with 2017 1.5L turbo engines?

Accord is sporty. The ES is not. Clearly, you don't care about sportiness or drive etc. So get the Lexus ES.

You aren't comparing used versus new. You are comparing luxury car to econosedan. I doubt buying the luxury car used is going to save you enough to come out ahead. Your slight depreciation savings (That lexus is what like 18k and the honda like 24k after discounts?) will not counter act having 3-4 years less of car usage, lower fuel economy, and high repair/maintenance costs.

Now buying a 2015 lexus might give you a cheaper luxury car experience than buying a new one.

Does this really merit a second thread when we're already discussing this EXACT topic in this thread the OP opened earlier this week?

But new has 5 year powertrain on the Accord

In simple terms, a powertrain warranty covers the parts of a car that provide power and make it move. Typically that involves the engine, transmission and drivetrain.
