Windows 10
It seems as if every few days there is a new upgrade. I’m getting tired of it. Get it right Microsoft.
Re: Windows 10
Depending on which version you have you can control most of the updates. I switched the settings on my network connection to "metered" and it won't download and install most updates. Once a month or so I turn off "metered" and do a mass update. Most of the ones I've seen lately are security update or the monthly cumulative W10 update.
When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.

I have Windows 10 on a couple of laptops that I don't use much.MidwestMike wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 5:26 pmIt seems as if every few days there is a new upgrade. I’m getting tired of it. Get it right Microsoft.
There are monthly updates.
Coming up is the major 1809 update.
Re: Windows 10
If you are on a version of Windows pretty much other than Home, you can choose to defer feature updates for a number of months while still receiving security updates.
Windows 10 is far from perfect, but this model is much more sustainable in the long term vs. the major launch of an entirely new OS every 5 years or so. They'll get the cadence right eventually.

It’s taken me a lot of years, but I’ve come around to this: If you’re dumb, surround yourself with smart people. And if you’re smart, surround yourself with smart people who disagree with you.

Re: Windows 10
Windows 10 updates monthly, although it seems sometimes the update comes out in several parts that might install on different days. I had updates on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Before that was Aug 15, and before that was July 10. I wouldn't call that "every few days".MidwestMike wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 5:26 pmIt seems as if every few days there is a new upgrade. I just had updates the last two days for Windows 7. It seems it takes a long time "to get things right".

I never thought I would say this about Mr. Softee, but I love Windows 10. It's incredibly robust. So I happily put up with all the updates. At least they care. (I've used it since it was brand new.)
