It's outside the scope of discussion for this thread, but only part of the benefit goes to retirement payments for you. If married with unworking spouse, spouse also gets lifetime payments despite no earnings. And don't forget SS disability coverage, survivors benefits, disability benefits for dependents, etc. But your point is valid, that as far as the retirement benefit is concerned, there are indeed diminishing returns.

But I just tried it on another computer and it worked fine. Seems perhaps just to be a problem with this particular computer.
