529 for K-12

Post by twoboysmom » Tue Mar 13, 2018 2:28 pm

I know many states are still trying to figure out if they're going to allow K-12 distributions from 529s. However, several states have said they are (Missouri, Mississippi). Here's what I'm trying to figure out: I live in Ohio. I have already maxed out my tax deductible contributions for Ohio for this year ($4k/kid). Ohio is not allowing K-12 distributions from their 529. The money that we will use to pay for private high school in a few years is just sitting in a savings account. I'm wondering if I can invest this in another state's 529 plan, like Missouri, and use it to pay for private high school in Ohio?
