PSA: Vanguard 1099 available

Post by oldcomputerguy » Tue Feb 13, 2018 7:05 pm

Just happened to look at my Vanguard brokerage account, 1099 form is now available.

Looks like VTSAX dividends are about 95% qualified, don't see any capital gain distributions. VTIAX, on the other hand, looks like about 2/3 qualified.

Interestingly, the dividends from Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF (VYM) appear to be 100% qualified; and SPDR Small-cap Growth threw off a (fairly) significant capital gain distribution.

On to tax time!
It’s taken me a lot of years, but I’ve come around to this: If you’re dumb, surround yourself with smart people. And if you’re smart, surround yourself with smart people who disagree with you.

Which of these 1099s are most likely to see a corrected version next month?
