Help with avatar

Post by Sockpuppet »

I’d like the following image to be my avatar but no matter what I do I can’t get the website to accept it. Can anyone help me in formatting this image to be boglehead compliant?

Crop out some of the whitespace on the left and right to make the image a 253x253 square. Then resize it to 100x100, and it will be accepted. (I tested this.)

Thanks but I am still getting the error message: “The avatar’s filesize must be between 0 and 8 KiB.“

I’ve used this guy as my avatar on other forums and he seems especially appropriate for this forum!

There are many websites where u can upload the image and then download the cropped and scaled image in whatever format you like. Like imageresize.org
Never look back unless you are planning to go that way

It's only 2.7kb; it works for me.

Sockpuppet - if you get stuck, PM me with a link to the image and I'll help you with it.

Instructions are also in the wiki: Creating an avatar
