None, really. Most of my choices are made completely on cost and/or convenience. I don't automatically assume a brand name is better than a generic.
I'm not smart enough to know, and I can't afford to guess.

As a former 513 resident, I speculate @bengal22 is from Cincinnati. Several of the listed brands are local favorites.

Graeter's is hands down the best ice cream I've ever eaten. More specifically, black raspberry chocolate chip. If Oprah Winfrey gets it shipped to her house, it's good enough for me.

The first 4 are either Dayton or Cincinnati home products. However, Graeters ice cream is sold at grocery stores in 49 state. I would highly recommend all of these local treats.

Amazon - love everything about them
Costco - Awesome products and I love their Kirkland brand. I can walk around there for a couple of hours
Nissan - After owning two terrible Fords, my little Nissan Versa showed me that a car can be low maintenance
Payless - Love their shoes (Dexter)
Lee casual pants - I buy the same type from Amazon over and over. They have a hidden Waistband that helps with my every increasing gut.

Oreos
Oreos are a knock-off imitation of the original Sunshine Biscuit Company's Hydrox cookies, although the current version of Hydrox is from a different company (Leaf) that resurrected the brand after it was discontinued in 1999.

I care not who was first...only which is better. And to me there is no comparison.

I used to work with a private label cookie manufacturer, and I'm the first to admit that many brand name cookies can be replicated in identical or even better fashion. But I have yet to taste any similar product that is even close to an oreo.

I enjoy trying the store-brand cookies that are similar to Girl Scout cookies but are well under $2.00 a package and have a hobby of figuring out who makes store-branded items, especially for Trader Joe's.

Any particularly good private-label cookies you can point me towards?

The best I ever had were fudge stripes (knockoff of Keebler elves fudge stripe cookies). They were (to me) better than the brand name. Pretty much any store brand version of that cookie is coming from the same private label manufacturer.

I agree with many of the posts above. One additional retailer that we have grown to love: Bed, Bath, & Beyond. It sounds strange to love a big box store like this but their return policy and customer service are unbelievable. Most recently, our roughly 4 year old Keruig coffee maker bit the dust. BBB quickly gave us a new one, without any hassle. We've had a handful of other examples over the last half decade.

+1 again! Those were great! You are the cookie whisperer! And to others, Joe-Joes are not like Oreos...

We get Oreos about once a year in summer when spouse makes Oreo ice cream (!). But seeing that blue bag in the cupboard (there is no heart-eyed cat-face Emoji for BH).

Am I the only one here who believes that a company that produces a terrific product is also completely capable of producing a dud?

If I am happy with a product from a particular company, I may investigate another product from that company first, but I will certainly look for a better alternative. I can't think of a single company to which I have blind allegiance, but I can think of several from which I have purchased more than one excellent product.

Agreed. However, if I have had excellent customer service and support from a company, it gives me much greater confidence that if I do have issues with one of their products that they will stand behind it.

This list has more luxury goods than most, but some luxuries are absolutely worth it. Speaking of the Park Hyatt, they have soap by Le Labo that is great. 99% of the time, I am completely unaware of the type of soap, shampoo, etc, but I always make a point to bring some Le Labo home with me.
