[Difficult to read replies to questions]
I find it hard to to read the reply's to questions submitted
because the lettering is not dark enough.
Do you have any suggestions to improve this situation?
Thank you

Everything looks fine to me. What device and browser are you using?
Re: [Difficult to read replies to questions]
I retitled the thread for clarity.
As mhalley notes, everything is OK from this end.

To MS LADY GEEK: changing title of recent thread
Hi Lady
Thanks for re-title of my recent thread.
But now I will clarify my original intent.
"The subject :" Re: Difficult to read replies to questions"
are pronounced in very dark lettering and easy to read with the light
blue background on my computer.
My problem (even though I wear glasses) is the replies to the questions
are lower/lighter lettering and hard to read conflicking with the same light blue
background on my computer.
Is there something you can do to make the lettering on replies more darker
for people that can't see that well ?????
The subject "RE" ................... is great for my eyesight !
The replies need to be darked up or maybe a different pronounced color.
Thanks Lady Geek

At least with my computer and Firefox if I can't read something I push "Ctrl" and the "+" all the way to the right of the keyboard and voila-the text and pictures get larger and/or darker--may take two or three pushes of the "+"

I wonder what your display pixel resolution is. The fonts used on this forum work poorly with computer displays that are less than 1400 pixels across.

My Nexus 5x is 1080 pixels wide, held in portrait mode, and I can read it fine.
But that's cuz it's showing the mobile device screen.
If I request the desktop version of the site, then yeah, its not readable without zooming...
Attempted new signature...

Maybe increasing the zoom factor in the browser might help.

It's best to keep your discussion in one place. I merged your update back into the original question.
Wakefield1 has my recommendation:
All you need to do is tell your web browser to make the text larger.Wakefield1 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 7:56 pm At least with my computer and Firefox if I can't read something I push "Ctrl" and the "+" all the way to the right of the keyboard and voila-the text and pictures get larger and/or darker--may take two or three pushes of the "+"
If you have Firefox as a web browser, follow these instructions: Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages
For Chrome, follow these: Change text, image, and video sizes (zoom)

Re: [Difficult to read replies to questions]
tuffy - in addition to changes to sizes that were suggested - also check your screen brightness which might add contrast for you helping you see lettering more clearly.
If you are using a laptop look for the brightness increase button usually on the top row of keys which typically looks like a sun with a + sign next to it.
If you are using a desktop computer - use the menu/settings button on your monitor to increase brightness.

Re: [Difficult to read replies to questions]
I think the specific cause of the OP's issue is a font color difference. When you're logged in, the original post in a thread has a black header (#000000) and the font text is true black as well (#000000). The text in all replies is a dark gray instead (#333333). If one is not logged in, the original post's header is dark blue-grey (#105289) and its body text is the same dark gray as all replies. The net effect is that text in replies when one is logged in is lower contrast than the text in the original post.
If one isn't logged in all the time, or frequently goes between logged-in and logged-out states (due to timeouts, new browser sessions, etc), one may have an impression that the font is just harder to read sometimes without making the connection to logged-in status.
Changing the font size will help, but can introduce other issues. A site-level option could fix the issue, but I don't know how work it would be to add and to maintain. If there are clean ways to apply a user-level CSS style sheet to the site, that'd do it too...but the last most popular user style sheet browser extension got turned into spyware fairly recently so I don't want to advocate its use.

Re: [Difficult to read replies to questions]
OP still didn't give the browser they are using, but if chrome you might try installing the chrome color extension.

Actually just found what I think is a better option. If using Chrome, go to settings, advanced, add accessability features, then add the high contrast extension. This gives a button on the right top of chrome that allows increasing contrast, grayscale, color inversion, and yellow on black.
The increased contrast mode still lets the bogleheads site look like it always did but the print is easier to read.
