Hello,

Are there folks interested in starting a meeting in the San Francisco Mid Peninsula Area?

San Mateo, Belmont, Burlingame, Hillsborough, Millbrae are all nearby.

Testing the interest, then we could start a monthly meeting at a coffee shop first.
Caltrain stations are nearby..

I’m in Palo Alto/Mountain View area so it would be nice to have a group closer than San Jose (I haven’t been to those meetings but would definitely check out one closer to me)

I just joined - I would attend - Caltrain station good idea. Opinion: More chapters the better. I would imagine having more chapters with some members attending more one regularly would improve the creation and dissemination of information. More ideas to talk about.

An alternative place several attendees suggested is the Burlingame library. They have several private rooms we could reserve. It is a couple blocks from Cal-train.

I can discuss CDs and buying them at brokerages.

With such a small group it is best everyone come with questions that others with more experience, can discuss.

For anybody coming from SF - Caltrain or BART (depending where in the city) is likely to be much less painful than driving.

About 10 of us met. We decided to keep meeting in Millbrae on the third Thursday of each month. But, probably in another location next time.

We had a brief talk about buying CDs from banks and in the secondary market. Questions were asked and other topics discussed.

Everyone decided to do it again.

Unfortunately, I've yet to attend a Bay Area meeting. And will have to miss this one as well.

Two suggestions:
First, it seems that HEDGEFUNDIE is in on this thread and in the bay area. Perhaps we can get a session to discuss his 3x leveraged strategy? Even better if we can get HEDGEFUNDIE himself/herself to lead discussion.

Second, I have to miss this Thursday as my wife is working, leaving me on kid duty. In the future, any chance of either recording events or being able to join virtually?

Looking forward to eventually coming to a Bay Area meetup.
