2017 Annual Conference Bogleheads Vegans & Vegetarians

Post by rlaustin » Sun Sep 10, 2017 8:16 pm

Hello All,

I'm going to the annual national Bogleheads conference this October near Philly.
I'm a vegan and I was hoping to connect with any other vegans or vegetarians that might also be attending.
My name is Robert and I'm from Texas
This will be my sixth national conference.

After the reception Wednesday evening, we are on our own for dinner.
There are some interesting veggie places nearby, so maybe we can all go together.
In accordance with the conference organizers security requests,
please do not post on this thread any specific names of local area eateries.
Please feel free to PM me if you would like.

Looking forward to meeting you next month.

Thanks. :D

Hi Robert,

This is Colette -- I attended Bogleheads 2013 and 2014 and will be there again this year. It'll be good to see you again. Please count me in on a vegan dinner! Great if we could go where we did in 2013-14, but certainly open to any new options.

Thanks for reaching out, and looking forward to getting together.

Colette

Hi Robert,

I am curious: If an impostor wanted to discover our secret location, he could send you a realistically composed PM and get the goods. Are you guarding against such possibility? Perhaps, you should request that everyone who sends you a PM specifies the 3rd letter of the location as a secret code.

See you in a week,

Potential imposters are a problem, yes.
There's only the one night for going out somewhere to eat, so the past attendees should just sign up to get a paddle and lead a group to a vegan place or whatever.
Easily enough done...
Attempted new signature...

Good point!

We could have new Boglehead abductions by former Boglehead attendees trying to get coveted seats at the conference.
