Hello Everyone:

Just wanted to let everyone know that today is the 21st anniversary of Jack's heart transplant. He met earlier today with the Doctors who performed the transplant.

Here's a story about that reunion.

The linked Philly article gives a cause of the heart problem,I believe the same thing that is being blamed for the in pool death about a year ago as of Christmas season of a Dartmouth College Swimmer who might have planned to work in the financial industry or perhaps even at Vanguard

Btw, I let out a hearty chuckle at this...

"In the abstract, health care is a right," Bogle said. He noted that his insurance bill after his transplant topped $780,000 but that with excellent health-care coverage through Vanguard, his portion was $3.46.

"I screamed at Eve, my wife, 'Quick, get my checkbook so I can pay this before they change their minds!' " he said with a laugh.

Hi Jack,

Here's wishing you a belated happy heart day from Elke and me. While the story of the new heart adding years to your life is miraculous, what I find more astounding is that you accomplished all that you did between ages 31 and 66 with a bad heart and lived to tell about it. You are amazing!

Just curious shouldn't the "Happy" greetings be directed to the team of doctors who did the work? Glad to hear Mr. Bogle doing well, but odd to give him congrats on something he didn't do other then take his meds and continue to live.
