Guess it only takes 2 to make a group. :)

If you get five or more members, and one of you agree to be the Local Chapter coordinator, I'll make it official and add your group and contact information to the Local Chapters Map so others can find and contact you.

I live in Fayetteville. I would love to get together with everyone for some coffee or a beer sometime. I'm 27 years old, and as you can imagine, my wife and I are the minority in a town like Faytown with us being Bogleheads :sharebeer

You're almost there. All you need now is one more Boglehead who shows interest and one of you to step up and agree to be the Local Chapter Coordinator.

I'm also in NW Arkansas. Anything ever come of this?

*Edit* I'd probably be up for taking on some of the organizer responsibilities if people are still interested this.

Sounds like there's enough interest to get a Local Chapter going, and we have a volunteer to be the coordinator. Contact me via PM and we can get this finalized.

I am in the Fayetteville area and would be willing to co-cordinate organizing a chapter if needed.

Age constraint might preclude my taking full responsibility for organizing, but would be happy to help.

Great!

I'm going to PM Saddlebum since he started the thread, and I don't want to step on any toes and then I'll send you a PM.

OK, folks, it's official. Terran has stepped up and agreed to be the new Local Chapter coordinator.

The name of the group is Northwest Arkansas Bogleheads
The contact email address is NWArkansasBogleheads@gmail.com

You can use this thread and sub-forum to communicate with each other and you can use the provided email address.

Thanks again to Terran for stepping up. Good luck to all the members of our newest Local Chapter.

Thanks Mel!

Congrats, we did it! Welcome to the Northwest Arkansas Bogleheads group!

Pacanutin has also volunteered to help organize. If anyone else would like to be involved as more than an attendee, just let us know.

In order to help us organize the inaugural events we have a quick survey we'd like you to complete. Please send your responses to NWArkansasBogleheads@gmail.com or to me via private message.

1) Your email? So we can notify you about upcoming meetings. We won't share it, and we'll remove you from mailings at anytime you request.

2) Your name? Bogleheads username (fine if you don't have one -- all are welcome) and/or real name, so we can keep track of who has responded.

3) When can you meet? Generally, would you be able to attend a meeting held (select all that apply): Weekday morning/noon (lunch break)/afternoon/evening, Saturday morning/afternoon/evening, Sunday morning/afternoon/evening? Please include any other regular conflicts (like: "Other than that, I can't meet on the evening of the third Tuesday of the month").

4) How often should we meet? Would you be most likely to attend all monthly, every other month, or quarterly meetings?

5) Where should we meet? Ideally it should be free, without requiring purchase for attendance, and easy parking. So far we've thought of the Fayetteville Public Library and the NWA Mall foodcourt, and would welcome other ideas.

Please send your responses as soon as you can to give us some time to set things up, and I'll followup via private message with those who have posted, but not responded after the holiday.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Edit: Small adjustment to question 2 based on suggestion from the Sacramento chapter organizer.

Bump.

I've sent private messages to those of you who expressed interest, but have not yet responded to the survey. I hope to get to meet all of you in person once we get these running.

Anyone else interested? Please respond by email or private message to the survey above
