I don’t think there is an east bay chapter, but I live in the east bay and would be interested in helping start a chapter

South Bay Bogleheads January Meeting

Post by jc42 » Thu Jan 03, 2019 1:14 pm

Hello South Bay Bogleheads! Happy New Year!

We’re beginning 2019 with a meeting on Thursday, January 10th, from 6:30-9pm at Merrill Gardens in Campbell. All are welcome. No RSVPs needed. You need not be a Vanguard client to attend.

Doors will open at 6:30 for our first-ever Great Finance & Investment Book Giveaway!
Who’s giving books away? You are! Some of your personal finance and investment books are just posing as clutter and gathering dust, right? Now’s your chance to pass them along for a good cause. Just bring ‘em in and let ‘em go. (I’m bringing four, myself!)

Are you on the look-out for a helpful personal finance or investment book? Here’s your chance. You can’t beat the zero price point!

Beginning at 7:00pm, the main topic of the evening will be “Planning for Healthcare Costs.”
A five-person panel will be offering a wide range of information, experience, and real-world perspectives on dealing with healthcare costs, insurance options, and Medicare. Healthcare choices and costs are wide-ranging. Some things are avoidable, some are not, many can't be known in advance. Come and participate on a real-world discussion of this important topic.

As usual we’ll collect voluntary donations to provide healthy snacks and water.

If you are new to Merrill Gardens, here is important information:

Location: Merrill Gardens is a 3-story senior living community at 2115 Winchester Blvd in Campbell, near the intersection of Winchester Boulevard and Campbell Avenue, close to downtown Campbell.

Parking: Please use nearby ground level retail parking spaces or street parking. DO NOT park in the fountain circle; it's for emergency vehicle access. DO NOT park in the underground garage; it's closed and locked after 8pm.

Building Entry: Enter through the front double doors. Walk straight ahead to the Receptionist's Desk. Sign-in as a guest; write SBB (for South Bay Bogleheads) as your reason for visiting. Our meeting space is down the hallway to the right, in the Activity Room.

Facility Use: Except for the restrooms, do not wander around the facility. It is home for over 100 residents. We must leave the Activity Room in the good order we found it. Everyone is expected to vacate the building by 9pm.
