Hi,
Please help me find my old posts - I was going to re-read some of the answers but can never find my old posts again once they are past the first few pages of new posts on the forum. I tired my Profile page but can't find a list of them there anywhere. I am sure they must be somewhere.
Would you please let me know how to find them?
Thanks!
How can I find my own posts?
Re: How can I find my own posts?
Click on your own username, for example right here above my post where you are shown as the topic author, and the resultant profile page will allow you the hyperlink of "Search user’s posts" and you can see them all there in chronological order with a search dialogue to drill down to certain words or phrases.
Re: How can I find my own posts?
"quicklinks " the three lines on top left ----> "your posts"

Here's the direct link: Your posts (generic link which goes to your own posts)
Re: How can I find my own posts?
When I do that I get a page called "Your Posts" but it's really a page of all the threads I've posted in (and sorted by last update, not by when I posted in it). Some are 20 pages long so it still is hard to find my posts.LadyGeek wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 7:57 pm Here's the direct link: Your posts (generic link which goes to your own posts)
Clicking thru my profile or simply just the number next to "Posts:" on one of my posts gets me a better list.
Re: How can I find my own posts?
You must have "Topics" checked in your search box. If you want to see just your posts individually go here, at Search for author: type in your user name (erp) and down the page at Display results as: click on "Posts". That will show all your separate posts, not the entire topic thread. My search box is always set at "Posts" so when I search using the "Your posts" link it always lists them separately.
If you want to find a topic thread you started then go here, at Search for author: type in your user name and down the page at Search with: click on "First post of topics only". That will bring up every thread you started.

That's interesting. You mean you clicked on the "egosearch" link posted by LadyGeek? otw that's just a longer way of doing what I said.Duckie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 6:08 pmYou must have "Topics" checked in your search box. I wonder why your egosearch defaults that way. I couldn't find any setting in the Control Panel for it, but if I manually add "&sr=posts" to the "egosearch" URL, it does do what you described.
btw another tip is to add "&ch" to the URL to get whole posts including embeds, instead of the shortened form of each post. (but this is really just the same as entering "0" for "characters" on the search screen you mentioned)
