Color scheme change?
Color scheme change?
Why did part of my display (topic headings) suddenly turn from blue to black? I liked the old color scheme better, and I don't see a way of changing it back.

I saw the same thing today, apparently the default palette has changed.

I had a moment where I thought my eyes were finally going
Ugly BLACK Borders
[Thread merged into here. --admin LadyGeek]
Why do I now have heave BLACK borders in the last few minutes around the topics.
The contrast is making me go cross eyed? Ugh.

Re: Ugly BLACK Borders
I see the bar at the top of the page has gone black, but no black borders.

Re: Ugly BLACK Borders
Dunno, but I suspect guess it might be due to BH user Gummy (Peter Ponzo) passing?
Seems even though he passed a while back, that has been the subject of some discussion lately.

I thought we're paying tribute to Mr. Bogle's passing.

This thread is now visible at the top of all forums. The forum header color has been changed to black in remembrance of Jack.
The wiki has a compilation of Jack's posts: John Bogle forum post index

I merged Doc's thread into a similar discussion.

Re: Color scheme change?
It's interesting that we see constant complaints about the blue theme. Now we see a tiny part of the page change from blue to black, and immediately people want to change it back.

I suspect I'm not the only one who thought someone was trying to make a political statement. I'm glad to see that isn't the case.

Perhaps changing the line to read "Investing Advice Inspired by Jack Bogle (May 8, 1929 - January 16, 2019)" might give observers a clue about the reason for the black masthead.

Thanks. I was beginning to think the change was on my screen only for inadvertently invoking the "unacceptable thread topic" clause yesterday.

FYI - The forum colors and site description have been restored back to "stock".
We'll do this again next year.

Re: Color scheme change?
Is there any way we can plz get a dark themed option/mode for the forum? All dark background and light text? Or is this already available?
I’m sure my wife and others spouses would appreciate a dark mode while I’m on the forum in my bed from my iPad.

Re: Color scheme change?
There's no theme option, but you can use a browser extension. From: Subject: Forum software upgrade bug reports and change requests
LadyGeek wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 8:59 pm ^^^ Thanks for the help! The Dark Reader extension displays the post editor's Font color palette correctly (Post a reply --> "Ink drop" icon in the editing toolbar). A few extensions I've tried don't display the palette correctly. I also see a dark mode for the forum software, but it's crude and messes up the logo and post editor's Font color palette.
For Firefox: Dark Reader - Firefox
For Chrome: Dark Reader - Chrome Web Store
