How search a two-word phrase?

Post by bfeenix44 »

Is there a way to search a two-word phrase, for example "sell Muni" where the query will return results only with those words together? Not returning all with just "sell" or just "Muni"?

I haven't been successful with my attempts so far...

thanks

Are you using “advanced search”? Put the two words in quotation marks.

You can't do what you seek using the forum's advanced search, but you can using the "Google..." search box at the upper right of many forum pages.

Yes, as mentioned putting a phrase in quotes when using google (or other search engine) will search for those precise words in that order.
Searching for
site:bogleheads.org "a two-word phrase"
will result in pretty much just this thread showing up

site:bogleheads.org a two-word phrase
without the quotes brings up lots of threads

OFCOL...
Thanks all.
I was trying different things in the Bogleheads searcher... just hadn't tried a general Google search.

Also
+must.
For must have that word over other words.(plus sign)
-omit
For words to leave out (minus sign)
And combine either of them plus “quotes” to narrow a search.
