Cancelation of Notifications

Post by yousha » Sat Jun 16, 2018 8:24 pm

I would appreciate help in finding out how to cancel notifications if it no longer needed by myself. I am a 80 year old vision impaired male who is not learned in technical language and would like simple step by step language. I thank you.

I presently have 387 notifications and I simply ignore them.
OP can do likewise...

I have done that and it does not cancel a given notification.

Perhaps, I did not make myself clear....these notifications are answers or replies to my questions which I no longer require. Someone said on this thread that they had almost 300 notifications and he/she ignores them. I would like to clear it out if possible (those that no longer I need).

Go to Notifications > See All > Mark All > Mark Read
That should fix it

Tried that and it does not work.....The 8 or 9 messages that I received remain.

Go to your User Control Panel --> Board Preferences --> Edit notification options (generic link, will go to the right spot for any member)

Uncheck all of the boxes, then Submit.

Go to your User Control Panel --> Overview --> Manage notifications (generic link, will go to the right spot for any member)

Click on Mark all notifications read (generic link, will mark all notifications as "read")

I think you just need to click on all your notifications/messages. You won't receive them any more.

Firstly, I want to thank all who have contributed their thoughts regarding my inability to cancel certain notifications and or all notifications. In turn, I asked several neighbors to assist me with the directions given by various individuals on this site as well as my relatives all of whom were unable to cancel the notifications. So I spoke with Apple who indicated that it might be that my browser may not be in harmony with the notifications site and therefore makes it impossible for me to perform the operation of canceling the notifications. So... I have decided to accept this limitation or else in frustration I might precipitate a nervous breakdown. Hopefully, Administration becomes aware of this issue. Thank you.

There should be no issues with your browser. Perhaps the browser on the PC you are currently using has some add-ons or extensions that are interfering with the notification display?

Do you have another device that you can login from? Give it a try.
