Longest conversation thread?

Post by CABob » Sun Jun 11, 2017 6:56 pm

I'm not sure if this is appropriate or in the right place, but as I read the 1800th post on Taylor's Three-Fund thread I am wondering what is the longest thread on this forum if anyone knows. Is anyone aware of a longer thread?

Go to this page, scroll to the bottom and sort by number of replies.

If Petrocelli had $5 for every reply to "Best watch for around $5000?", it would be paid for! :)

It depends on what you mean by "Longest conversation thread". Some threads have many posts, but not necessarily much conversation (for example, the old polls).
Some threads have a lot of quoting of previous posts, or quoting of a post that quotes another post. These may have a high character count, but not many varied viewpoints.
I like the threads that have many ways of looking at a situation, with each "view" from someone with a different perspective.

I think the threads with more "views" are more significant.

Your link only goes to the Investing Theory sub-forum. You'd have to do that for each sub-forum and take the max of all the sub-forums to find the "winner".

Right now, the winner is a locked post from 2008 with 3555 replies: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=15434
