Can you tag a member in a post?

Post by sawhorse » Tue Aug 06, 2019 10:25 pm

There are sometimes threads where I know another member can add valuable insight to the topic. Is there a way to "tag" them in a post in order to bring the thread to their attention?

I may be wrong, but this could work:

Send them a private message and ask them to contribute.

Simply PM the person to bring to their attention, might lead to a nice dialogue as well.

Sometimes it isn't so important/serious as to bring it to the level of a PM, and it would mostly be for the benefit of another member with a question. For example, if someone asks about a type of cheese, and I remember that a certain member mentioned being a cheese aficianado, it would be useful to tag that member to bring it to their attention. As the question in the thread wouldn't be mine, and it's a trivial topic, I don't think it would warrant sending them a private message just to tell them to look at the thread.
