I got a nice card from my sister. I think it was a bit more heartfelt than the one I got from the auto dealership, or the one from my dentist.

Vanguard sent me a junk e-mail holiday greeting. :)

It wasted my time deleting it and I wasted your time telling you about it. :)

This thread is now in the Personal Consumer Issues forum (card).

Maybe they need to set up an opt out option for holiday cards to help keep expenses low?

My independent Subaru repair place always sends a cute car-repair themed Thanksgiving card. It's the only business holiday card I like.

AMICA sends lovely real cards. I guess I am too low class to get one from Vanguard.

Is the point of this thread to list our favorite vendor cards? (Otherwise please let me know point).
If so - I got a cute card from chewy.com.

I took it as a humblebrag from OP on his special status with Vanguard.
No card from Vanguard for me - no special status (that I am aware of) but I also have money at Fidelity and Schwab - perhaps I should move it all to Vanguard so I can get a card too (although then I'd give up my 0% ER funds). ;)

Transfer $5,000,000 to Vanguard and you can get a Holiday Card.
I transferred $100,000 to Ally and they are giving me $1,000. (viewtopic.php?t=261504)

I prefer the latter :)

That is certainly an odd response to my post given the spirit in which I made it to yousha.

Odd in what way?
I would take a pleasure if I had received a card from Vanguard but I didn't.
What I am reading is that Vanguard sends cards to only its $5M-in-invested-assets clients. yousha made it a point to point out that he received a card as a high-worth investor.
My contractor sends their cards to EVERY customer - those that spent $100 with them and those that spent $100,000.
Chewy.com mailed cards to all their customers (I got TWO of them - probably because I have two separate accounts with them).

I was simply pointing out that I'm happy with Ally for giving me a bonus right around the holiday season while disappointed that Vanguard reserves a simple card only for its top-tier customers. It is nice to see that chewy.com, my contractors, others - treat all their customers equally when wishing them happy holidays.

Eh, no physical card for me either. I got the email card as well. That's OK. Email cards cost little, so that is good.

I did get a physical card from the company that provides the lawn services other than mowing. And I got a card from the agency that provides my CNAs. And a card from my alma mater's athletic department, since I am a season ticket holder for the football team. They recently almost doubled my required "donation" to be able to purchase season tickets. They also jacked up the season tickets for good measure. :x

Over the years the number of Christmas cards we have received has dwindled, but there seems to be an uptick this year. Wife likes to make our cards, so ours usually go out later than most.

If you send VG a direct message on twitter requesting a mug they will send you one in the past. Include address info.

Many places send you an email/card on your birthday although I didn't get one from Vanguard.

My favorite holiday card from a company was when I was a 29 game plan ticket holder to the Orioles (mid 90s?) and they sent out this card with a photo of Camden Yards stadium and at each position was a snowman.
