Has the image been uploaded to a hosting site? If so, download it and check the size again. Seems like a mismatch between the image you are trying to insert and the image you think you are trying to insert.

That's the problem...it won't upload to TINYPIX..which keeps saying it's too high. Even though my other software (PAINT) says it is not.

Did that 3 times. It's tiny and still says it's more than 1200 pixels high. I REALLY wanna post this (photo of smaller iPhoneX vs iPhone PLUS). It tells the whole story.

In PAINT are you sure you actually cropped the image or did you simply resize the selection area? PAINT (on Windows 10 at least) confusingly shows several pixel dimensions that could be misinterpreted. You can verify the actual image size by finding the file in Explorer, right click Properties, Details will show width and height.

In a new browser window, navigate to imgur.com and click on "New post"
Follow the directions there. See how far you get.
(this from livesoft)
posting an image into your post.

If you are resizing for an avatar.
Try Adobe Photoshop, Canon "Digital Photo Pro" (free to download), "save as" then pixel count height/width (retain proportion).

I give up. Frankly it would be nice if they could upgrade this software so mortals can post a photo!

Try imgur instead of TinyPic.

For working with images, I like IrfanView.
This week's fortune cookie: "Your financial life will be secure and beneficial." So I got that going for me, which is nice.

But this is not an image posting site. It's a discussion forum. So the first step is to find a more user-friendly image posting site. If TinyPic isn't working for you, there are many other options.

Instead of complaining, why don't you post examples of what you're trying to do and the problems. Many people are able to post images with ease.

I am trying to post a chart that I made showing my portfolio in a pie. I give up, you cannot import and image here to this archaic site.

This is a forum, not an image hosting site. You have to first upload to an image hosting site that allows external references, then copy that link here. You can't upload it directly here.

The following code results in the picture below it:

Code: Select all

[/img]
Image

What you must do is upload a photo to an image sharing site. You will be given a URL of the image. Paste it after the equals sign in the code below:

Code: Select all

[/img]
Frugality, indexing, time.

If you read the instructions, it tells you that you can't upload (other than avatars). That doesn't make it archaic. It's a choice. The forum software would support it, if the owner wanted it. I know because I've used other forums with PHPBB that do have upload.
