Taxation on ETFs in Belgium

Post by steve321 »

We are considering moving to Belgium because of family. We are retired and most of our liquid wealth is in ETFs.
I read that for accounts worth more than 1 million euros a wealth tax applies; however I didn't understand if for example one has several accounts, each worth say 700k, the wealth tax still applies.
In other words is it the total worth of share dealing accounts that counts, or the value of each individual account?

Thank you. It seems that if you already have several accounts before moving there and each of them is less than 1 million you shouldn't pay any taxation, because you're not splitting your assets voluntarily to avoid the law
