interesting articles today on cnnfn regarding local currency

Being a fan of economics and anthropology, I find these sorts of articles and social experiments very interesting. Article mentioned 11 separate local currencies and the impact it was having on impoverished areas experiencing "skewed wealth distribution". No agenda here... just wanted to pass along. To the extent these kinds of things create markets, a measure of wealth and some empowering type movements, i'm all for it. I suspect not much of this is reported on their income taxes though as they are required..

Very interesting, and not exactly a vote of confidence in the current status quo. Prepare for some attempts at regulating this in the future.

This could be your replacement for silver & gold in a currency crisis, as long as people believe in it.
